Metal matrix mania

Happy December!  Around here, things are twinkling, sparkling, glowing, and all-around festive-looking.  I hope they are where you are, too.  The holidays are under way, and the party season is here.  We get to wear our finest clothes and adorn ourselves with our nicest jewelry.

Sparkle is nice, but I'm going a little different this year and playing with gemstones with a metal matrix.  So, it's more of a gleam than a sparkle.

Metal matrix is when veins of metal (copper, bronze, silver, even gold) are part of the formation of a gemstone.  It's a unique look, warranting a double-take to make sure you're seeing what you're seeing.  This also means that each stone is unique.  So, even if the wire wrap is the same, each piece is going to be one-of-a-kind.

You now know pretty much everything you need to know about metal matrix, so here are some pretty pictures to look at.
