Since I've been back from Australia, I've been just doing my best to replace all the custom jewelry pieces that sold while I was gone. The orders were coming in so fast and furious (thank goodness for my assistant who was filling all the orders in my absence) that I was thinking I should go away more often.
But upon returning to the studio after having been away for almost a month, I looked at my work space with fresh eyes...and realized I have a LOT of gemstones that are not yet jewelry.
I have made a pact with myself to stay away from the gem shows until I've worked with some of these poor, neglected gemstones. I've been in vacation mode, and my creative juices need to start flowing again, so I figured this might force the issue...kind of like a writer who has to sit down to write in order for the words to come.
Even though the stones will give me plenty of inspiration, one of my favorite things, a sure-to-get-the-juices-flowing guarantee, is when a customer comes to me with a challenge.
So, to make myself accountable, I'm committing to you here and now that the stones pictured below are my next projects, and I'll have the "after" pictures in next month's blog...Part 2 of I'm a Rockaholic.
Stop by next month to see the outcome.
Until next month,
